OMG!! Yes, I finally updated my blog!

Well, since is has been 5 months since I wrote in my blog, (OMG where did time go?) I thought I would update you all.

Rather than try to get caught up on 5 months I though I would just start with last week and maybe I can keep up.

This weekend has been rather lazy (not complaining) but you know me, not one to sit still for too long!

Friday night was Girls Night! I went out with a few girlfriends from Ottawa and we ended up coming home at 9:45. Yes, I'm lame! I started early though and if I had drank anymore I was going to have a tough time getting up.
Saturday was the Sesquicentennial of the Lincoln Douglas Debates and a huge festival in Ottawa. I had to be at the Farmers Market at 6:15 to help set up (headache and all!). I ended up hanging out for a while and then went to yoga at 9. I came home and made salsa with all the beautiful tomatoes I got at the FM and then I spent the rest of the day lounging with the girls. NICE!!
I met Matt at camp last night (this weekend was OA Fellowship/work weekend) for dinner and was home by 10:40. Watched some Olympics and headed to bed.

For those of you who don't know, the girls get up at 4:30 AM...Matt, my wonderful husband, gets up with them and when he is gone it is my responsibility and boy does 4:30 come early! Then up at 5 to feed them and let them out, fell asleep on the couch until Rilee threw herself on the screen and I let them in at 5:45. We went back to be until 7:45 when they decided to start wrestling on the bed.

I have to work at JJC (Jeremiah Joe Coffee) from 1-close tonight. Thankfully close is 5 PM. This is the new schedule until the 1st of the year. Every other Sunday I close or open. And my new shift is Monday's 6-8 AM!! I'm sure you are saying right now, really? Megan hates to get up! RIGHT! But! I hate closing during the week more, so now I work a two hours shift and then go to my regular job and can go home and not have to work in the evenings! WOO HOO!!

Matt was supposed to leave camp between 9 and 10 and I just got a text message saying soon, that was at 10:45...nice.

But I'm trying to be supportive because Matt needs to be successful this fall so when he's promotable next year he has better options for moving. Moving you say? Yup! Looks like next year will be the big move for us.
I am crazy scared about the whole thing! The thought of trying to sell a house in this market is bad enough, but we have a lot of work to do before the house is sell able! And where are we going to come up with the money to make it sell able? And how are we going to get what we should for the house when we sell it? And still have enough for a down payment? Yes, this what is keeping me up at night!

Maybe I should make a list of all that needs to be done. Lists are therapeutic right? Or will it overwhelm me to the point of more stress? These are the questions I ask myself as I procrastinate making said list. UGH!!!!!!!!

Off to do laundry and shower.

lazy Thursday night...

I checked Heidi's site for a new blog and didn't find one. Then I remembered that I hadn't blogged either, so I don't have a lot of room to talk!

I went to a womens' conference today. It was pretty good, lots of good ideas on how to manage stress, family and work. It was great going to a conference geared just for women. So many of the conferences I went to in the past (BSA) were...um...not.
I got home and knew I should go to yoga but I didn't want to leave the house when it was SNOWING!! on March 27th...ugh! So I sucked it up, changed clothes and headed back into town and it was CANCELLED! Matt says I get an A for effort.
I think the reason I am so tired all the time is because I haven't been working out. So I guess I will have to wait until Tuesday to go to yoga.

Tom and I had dinner and I am currently sandwiched between two snoring brown furballs hanging out on the couch watching Ace of Cakes and catching up on my blog.
It is kind of nice being surrounded by them since it is 62 degrees in here. :) If you didn't know I play a game with the gas company called I-don't-want-to-give-you-anymore-money-than-I-have-to. Last month the bill was $225!! This month we are back to $162, thank GOD! I hate paying the gas company a crazy amount of money for keeping our house at 62 degrees!

Tomorrow night we are heading to Kankakee for Ann's birthday party. It will be good to see the family and especially Jean since she had her knee replacement sugery last Friday. Saturday I am going to Bloomington to meet Heidi and Evie for a bit of shoping and lunch! WOO HOO!!

I am off to bed! good night!

Chewing ears...

...is the girls new favorite thing to do. They won't leave each others ears alone. It seems to be the way they control each other. So I'm watching them rough house on the couch right now and all I'm thinking is thank goodness they wear each other out.

Rilee got her stitches out today. Thanks Uncle Tom for taking me to the vet!

It is so nice sitting on the couch, watching food network and drinking a glass of wine knowing I don't have to work tomorrow, so nice!

I guess I don't have any new news for now...

finally a night home...

I figure it is about time I update the site. I'm sitting here with the dogs while Tom is with a friend and Matt is at a meeting. It is nice to finally have a night with nothing to do but hang out with the girls and catch up on Martha Stewart's show. It is cookie week and I love cookies!

Speaking of the girls, they found mud outside. I forgot how much I LOVE spring and the mess it makes on my tile floor and now there are two of them! Don't tell Matt I'm complaining; he just keeps laughing at me because the second dog was my idea!
They are getting along so well though and we are so lucky to have gotten Rilee from LEARN. We went to the Vet last week and he said she is perfect. She'll probably be bigger than Belle! FUN!

Last night, just before bed, Belle was on the bed and Rilee was in the crate and she started howling. She wasn't standing pawing at the door of the crate like she has in the past. This was laying down howling like a pitiful crazy puppy. She finally calmed down and passed out. The joys of puppys!

Did I mention my brother moved in with us for a while? They finally accepted his offer on the townhouse but he doesn't have a closing date. In the mean time it is nice to spend some time with him and he's been a lot of help with the girls.

I'm ready for bed but I suppose I should wait up for Matt to get home from his meeting since I haven't really seen him today.

Matt's mother is having knee replacement sugery on Friday and we'll be heading to Kankakee to be with the family, then on to Johnsburg for Easter weekend.
Maybe I'll post before Easter but if I don't, HAPPY EASTER!

Belle and Rilee

Photobucket Album
Coming Home

Our lives will never be the same...

The saga of the new dog...
We headed up to Johnsburg to stay the night Friday. This broke up the trip a bit so we didn't have a 3 hour drive one way; thanks Mom and Dad! On Saturday we headed up into Wisconsin to check out the new dog. In order for us to take her that day (they usually have a 24 hour waiting period) she had to love us and Belle and we had to love her.
It went beautifully! They got along like sisters! We spent an hour there getting to know her and decided to take her with us.
We headed back to Mom and Dad's for lunch and then back to Ottawa! We decided to name her Rilee since it was so close to St. Patrick's Day and keep with the Skelly family name rules: everyone has a set of double letters and no name dips below the line.
The next couple of days have been fun getting used to having a little one underfoot. She's been a very good girl. Belle has had a little trouble getting used to having some one share the attention and her TOYS!! But we make sure we give her equal attention and she's still sleeping with us and she seems to be fine.
Rilee didn't want to eat breakfast yesterday and she only ate part of her dinner but I think it was just nerves since she ate just fine this morning. She's so little compared to Belle and I'm not sure she'll ever be as big, not a bad thing!
I supposed I should finish getting ready for work! Blog later...

Not really a blog unless you actually blog...

Heidi reminded me of this fact today! And I'm not really sure who is going to read this anyway except maybe Heidi and my mom. :) Since I write the same way I thinkk random and scattered, this might be more interesting than you think!

I was planning to go to yoga tonight (after missing the last 3 weeks) but I have to work at Jeremiah Joe Coffee (JJC) tomorrow night and Thursday I have a Rotary training thingy so I thought I should spend time with Belle and the washer and dryer tonight. I've done 3 loads of laundry and folded the three baskets of clean stuff that has been sitting the bonus room for a week. Belle loves to carry around our clothes and shoes and so I though I would try giving her one of Matt's old shirts to carry around and maybe she would give up on the good stuff...we shall see...right now she is curled up on the couch with her two legged frog and the shirt snoring.

We got an exciting email today! Back up a few months...I decided I wanted another dog, since the baby thing was slow, so we applied through a Lab Rescue organization to adopt another Lab. We got a couple of offers but none really seemed to be the righ fit so we decided to take our name off the available list. Last week Matt emails me a link to one of the dogs on the rescue site and she's beautiful. The very same day I get an email from the orgainzation asking us if we were still interested and if we might be ready to adopt. I thought it was fate! So, with Matt's semi-permission, I emailed her we were interested and we were interested in this particular dog. Fast forward to today, I get an email: we have been selected from a bunch of applications to meet Meadow. So we are driving all the way to west of Milwaukee to meet and hopefully take Meadow (soon to be renamed something else...tune in for the new name later) home with us! She's a 6 month old chocolate lab who was rescued from a barn. The foster mom says she is wonderful and she's a great little puppy. Just wait until Belle gets her hands on her...she's be disobedient before you know it!

Heidi was supposed to come stay with us this weekend but she has a lot of homework and several projects and now we are going up to see Meadow so it all works out for the best...as long as we plan to get together sometime VERY soon!

So now I'm watching taped Martha Stewart show episodes and not much else is going on. Matt is at an OA meeting, he has two meetings tomorrow night and another one on Thursday. I'm not sure when I'll see him again, LOL!

I hear the dryer beeping, laundry calls...

This is my first attempt at creating a website...
mostly so I have a link from Heidi's site!
We'll see how well I keep up with it.
I need to figure out how to set it up first!
Come back soon!
